'Slush'

New Film!

So Slush has proved to be a success and you may see it cropping up in various places on the net and maybe TV (most recently the trailer was featured on Shralp! which was nice!).

And so, after the success of Slush, Pilchard Productions (also known as Ben Howells) has a new film in the works over the summer, titled 'Scenes'. Moving away from the documentary format a little and mixing more action in with the talking, 'Scenes' will be a portrayal of the UK cable wakeboard scene through the talented local riders at cable centres across the country. Slush delayed again!

Unfortunately, as with the trailer, the release of Slush has been delayed due to circumstances. The film is now finished but we are waiting on issues regarding the music and cannot make it available until these are resolved! Apologies and we hope to have it available very soon!

Return from successful shoot

We returned from Scotland in the early hours of last Tuesday after a very successful and enjoyable week-long shoot. I'd encourage anyone to go check out the scene in Scotland, it's awesome.

Soon I'll be beginning editing (just finishing up another project this week) and we will have a trailer available here for your viewing pleasure on Friday 15th March. The final release date for the film is now confirmed as Sunday 25th May.

Welcome to the temporary website for Slush, a documentary on the Scottish ski industry. We will have our own website soon, where you will be able to view the film upon release on 25th May onwards. Here's the film synopsis:

As the effects of global warming begin to be seen across the globe, ski resorts are in decline and need to look in new directions to stay alive for the future. While this issue has become apparent across Europe over the last few winters, one area has been battling the weather for the best part of a decade – Scotland.

With decreasing snowfall and the lure of the Alps, Scotland is not drawing in the crowds as it once used to. Several resorts have narrowly avoided closure, and despite developments allowing walkers and bikers onto the slopes, the Scottish ski industry is facing uncertain times.

Will skiing and snowboarding become impossible, without leaving our shores or without turning to artificial alternatives? Our documentary aims to investigate these issues, find out what it means to ride in Scotland and see if global warming is affecting the future for Scotland.
